Nelson Mandela Bay Municipality is urging residents to reduce water consumption as some areas like Kwanobuhle in Uitenhage run dry.
The Metro said in the last four weeks some areas, especially on the Western side of Nelson Mandela Bay have suffered water shortages.
“These shortages have been due to high water consumption and low dam levels supplying the Western side of the City,” the Metro said.
“We urgently need to reduce water consumption to 250 megalitres a day,” it said.
Water tankers have been despatched to the following areas:
1) Kuyga area — Taxi rank
2) Santa & Algoa Frail Care, Mission Road.
3) Hunters Retreat Super Spar
4) Rowan Street, Rowallan Park
5) Gqebera, Walmer multi-purpose centre
6) Greenshields Park Shopping Centre & Bakery
