Nelson Mandela Bay water users will be asked to reduce consumption by 10 percent.
This follows the annual review of the operating rules for the abstraction of water from the Algoa Water Supply System.
According to a report to the Infrastructure, Engineering and Energy Committee, the Metro will be restricted to 90% of its allocated use from the Kouga and Kromme River Water Supply Systems.
The report says an analysis was done to determine the extent of the restrictions required on the use of water to ensure a sustainable supply of water for domestic, industrial and agricultural use.
