Nelson Mandela Bay Mayor, Nqaba Bhanga, has announced a reshuffle of his mayoral committee.
Thsonono Buyeye of the AIC will step down as Deputy Mayor this week and he will be replaced by the UDM's Luxolo Namette.
However, it is now up to a full Council to vote in favour of Namette's appointment at a meeting on Monday.
The changing of the guard was announced by Bhanga on Thursday, who referred to Buyeye's move as a big sacrifice.
He says Buyeye is expected to formally resign on Sunday and will become the Mayoral Committee Member for Infrastructure and Engineering.
