Nelson Mandela Bay is one of four South Africa cities with the highest murder and aggravated robbery rates in the country.
The South African Institute of Race Relations says the others are Cape Town, Johannesburg and Durban.
According to its latest South African survey released this week, the four metros also made it onto last year's list of 50 cities with the highest murder rates in the world.
Researcher Kerwin Lebone says their study revealed that Cape Town had the highest murder rate, followed by Nelson Mandela Bay, Durban, and Johannesburg.
The SA Institute of Race Relations says given the types of crimes that most residents fear, many would consider Johannesburg to be the most feared city in South Africa.
