Police in Gqeberha are searching for two men who robbed the Newton Park Post Office on Monday morning.
A police spokesperson Captain Sandra Janse van Rensburg says at approximately 11.15 am two men pretending to be customers, entered the Post Office.
She says one of the employees came from the back of the office and opened the door leading to the customers.
The suspects managed to gain entrance to the staff area and forced the employee to the manager's office where they ordered them to hand over the money from the safe.
Captain Janse van Rensburg says they threatened to shoot if their demands were not met, although nobody noticed a firearm.
She says on the way out the men robbed customers of their cellphones and personal belongings.
The suspects fled with an undisclosed amount of cash.
A case of armed robbery is under investigation.
