Police in Komani, formerly Queenstown, are searching for the mother of a one-day-old baby boy, who was found dumped in bushes at Westbourne Township on Thursday afternoon.
Spokesperson, Captain Namhla Mdleleni says it is alleged that the baby was seen by a passer-by who alerted the police.
Police arrived at the scene and found the baby still alive.
The child was taken to Frontier Hospital for examination and later to a place of safety where he is in good health.
Police are appealing to anyone who can assist with the whereabouts of the mother of the child to contact the police in Komani.
