The Mayor's office in George has announced the appointment of Joan Shaw as Tourism Manager within the George Municipality.
Executive Mayor, Charles Standers says they're convinced Shaw will not only add her experience but will also take the industry forward together with all the relevant role-players.
He said in a statement on Monday that Shaw joins the organisation at a time where a strategy for tourism is being formulated with input from different sectors.
He also thanked the Acting Tourism Manager Claudene Carelse for steering and leading this section towards the establishment of the George Tourism Strategy.
