New Superintendent General for Education in Eastern Cape

Eastern Cape Education MEC, Mandla Makupula has officially announced the appointment of Mthunywa Ngonzo as the new Superintendent General of Education in the province.
Makupula says the recruitment process had netted over 20 good candidates, from which the panel he chaired recommended finally to the Premier the appointment of Ngonzo.
He says with nearly 50% of the provincial budget given to education, Ngonzo takes over the reigns of the department with a budget allocation R26.972 billion, nearly 90 000 administrators and educators, as well as over 1.9 million learners in 5626 schools across the province.
The new Superintendent General pledged to spare no effort to ensure that the province's biggest investment of 45.5% is translated to better education outcomes.
