The Independent Electoral Commission (IEC) has formally registered the Abantu Integrity Movement (AIM) to contest next year’s local government elections in Nelson Mandela Bay.
Sello Headbush, member of the AIM interim leadership, said the IEC decision marked an important milestone for the new Nelson Mandela Bay resident’s movement.
He said in a statement that this means they now have lift-off in their mission to take the Metro back from the current crop of politicians who have done nothing but cause mayhem at City Hall over the past four years.
Headbush said the interim leadership of AIM comprises individuals from all walks of life who are driven by the common purpose of putting the best interests of the Metro’s citizens first.
AIM, which is led by well-known former anti-apartheid activist and businessman Mkhuseli “Khusta” Jack will unveil its interim leadership at a public event next month.
