Nelson Mandela Bay's newly appointed city manager, Mpilo Mbambisa, has outlined several areas of immediate concern for him.
Metrominute reports that Mbambisa wants the municipality to consider alternatives options for the five large companies that are engaged in a dispute with municipality over electricity tariffs and have been paying 2010 rates.
He says in a written report on his tenure as acting municipal manager that attention should be given to ratepayers threatening a rates boycott.
Mbambisa says with respect to municipal strike, the no work no pay principle will apply.
He also says that 21 forensic investigations have been completed and referred to the municipality's legal department for consideration.
Mbambisa also noted that the Pikoli forensic report was tabled at Friday's council meeting and that the recommendations should be implemented.
