While libraries in Nelson Mandela Bay remain closed due to a strike by employees, the Blue Crane Route Municipality will be commissioning a new library in Somerset East.
Eastern Cape Arts and Culture MEC, Xoliswa Tom, is expected to deliver the keynote address at the opening function on Friday.
The Blue Crane Route Municipality says the library will serve as a resource centre for learners and teachers at Aeroville Senior Secondary School as well as the broader community.
The library is a joint venture between the Municipality and the Bhisho Department of Sport, Art and Culture.
