The National Energy Regulator of South Africa will hold public hearings today on the generation license applications for five wind farms in the Eastern Cape.
Together the wind farms have a combined generation of nearly 340 megawatts.
The five wind farms seeking generation licenses are Waainek Wind Power outside Grahamstown, the Tsitsikamma Community Wind Farm and the Amakhala Emoyeni Project near Bedford.
The remaining two are Chaba Wind Power near Komga and Grassridge Wind Power.
