Nelson Mandela Bay Metro Municipal Manager resigns

Nelson Mandela Bay Municipal Manager, Lindiwe Msengana-Ndlela, has resigned, barely four months into the job.

She returned to work from sick leave on Monday after a long absence after she wrote to Eastern Cape Local Government MEC, Mlibo Qoboshiyane about political interference in her work.

She laid the blame for this at the door of executive mayor, Benson Fihla and his deputy, Chippa Ngcolomba.

Speaking to Algoa FM News, MEC Qoboshiyane confirmed her resignation, agreeing that this left the Nelson Mandela Bay Metro administration in a quandry.

He said that by his calculation, this is the the 11th head of administration since 2009 and its now only 2013.

"It tells me that that there is high volatility and high turn over at the top echelons in the municipality at present and administrative turmoil or instability at the very least," he said.
