Nelson Mandela Bay Municipality's Executive Mayor, Zanoxolo Wayile, paid tribute today to the late Bongani Dyasi, who passed away on 15 February.
He will be laid to rest on Sunday morning at the Raymond Mhlaba Indoor Sport Centre.
Metro spokesperson, Kupido Baron says a Memorial Service will be held tonight, also at the same venue.
Wayile says during the struggle years of the 1980s and early 1990s, Dyasi played a critical role, including the formation of the UDF, the consumer boycotts, the campaigns against the Koornhof Bills, the struggle against black local authorities, and the formation of street and area committees.
