The Nelson Mandela Bay Business Chamber has called on the municipality to be transparent and to urgently table the Pikoli forensic report detailing alleged municipal mal-administration before council.
Chamber CEO, Kevin Hustler, said today that metro bosses should also hand over the report to the Hawks, so that the organisations and individuals accused of squandering taxpayers' and ratepayers' money can be brought to justice.
He says the Chamber wants executive mayor, Benson Fihla, to table the full Pikoli report before council as a matter of urgency.
"We want to see remedial actions taken inside the muncipality to prevent these type of activities happening again. We would like to see punitive action taken against those officials or individuals involved in the organisations that received the funding and seemed to go ahead and spend it wastefully for their own enrichment." says Hustler
Hustler says organised business is concerned over the in-action by the metro, with the report sitting with the metro leadership since March and not having been tabled before council.
The report was compiled by former NPA boss, Vusi Pikoli.
