Nelson Mandela Bay Municipality spokesperson, Roland Williams, says the Metro remains a functional municipality with municipal services being delivered on a daily basis.
Speaking on the DMB on Algoa FM on Tuesday, Williams was responding to a recent call by the Nelson Mandela Bay Ratepayers Association for a rates boycott because of poor service delivery.
He appealed to residents who are not receiving a 100% service from the Metro should take up their issues through the call centre number.
However, Williams declined to accept that the problems were widespread.
"We remain a very functional and operational municipality every single day in some suburb among the 300 000 households that we have somebody's dirt is being picked up. Every morning when you open your tap you get water and you have electricity and road maintenance is done" he said.
