Eastern Cape police have released the name of the learner who died in a minibus taxi accident on the R75 between Uitenhage and Despatch on Friday evening.
Spokesperson, WO Basil Seekoei says she was 15-year old Sesethu Kona from the Moses Mabida High School in Kirkwood.
20 others were injured in the accident.
Seekoei says the driver of the minibus was not at the scene when police and emergency services arrived.
On Saturday, the 30-year old taxi driver was arrested in Kirkwood.
He is expected to appear in the Uitenhage magistrate's court on Monday on charges of culpable homicide, reckless driving and overloading.
