A 30-year old taxi driver was arrested in Kirkwood on Saturday, following Friday evening's accident in which a learner from Moses Mabida High School was killed.
Twenty others were injured, when the minibus taxi they were travellling in, overturned on the R75 between Uitenhage and Despatch.
Police spokesperson, WO Basil Seekoei says the group was returning from an educational tour at Coega, when the accident happened.
He says the driver was not at the scene when police arrived.
