A 24-year-old man accused in the death of PE Flying Squad member, Dwane Kemp, made another brief appearance in court on Tuesday.
He died in hospital late last month after he was wounded in a gunbattle between the suspect and his four accomplices at the Le Bon bakery in Central.
Kemp's flying squad partner returned fire, killing four of the robbers while the suspect managed to escape.
He was finally arrested at his parent's house in Algoa Park last Sunday.
The court previously ordered that his identity, which is known to Algoa FM News, not be revealed.
During Tuesday's court appearance the Magistrate instructed journalists not to publish pictures of the accused.
He faces five charges of murder, attempted business robbery and the illegal possession of a firearm and ammunition.
The suspect's expected back in court on the 15th of February for his formal bail application.
