Motorists driving on the N2 near Wilderness on Sunday had to look twice when a naked woman was spotted walking next to the road.
Police Spokesperson Captain Malcolm Poje says police from Knysna, Wilderness and Sedgefield all received complaints from motorists.
Police stopped the 55 year old woman and took her to the police station where her husband came to fetch her.
Poje says it is alleged that the woman suffers from a psychiatric condition.
He says they did not arrest the woman as it would have been a needless exercise.
