Police in the Southern Cape have now arrested 59 people in connection with the violent protests along the N2 near Plettenberg Bay.
The protest, which started on Tuesday night resulted in several vehicles being damaged and shops being looted.
Spokesperson Sergeant Chris Spies says on the first day they arrested two suspects, aged 21 and 24, who will appear in court on Friday.
All the others will appear only next week and will remain behind bars this weekend.
The youngest suspect is 13-years-old.
They will face several charged from public violence, malicious damage to property, theft and being in possession of stolen goods
The N2 highway remains closed, but Public Order Police members are still on the scene monitoring the situation.
They will remain on the ground until law and order is restored.
