The George Municipality is advising that the N2 at Thembalethu, George, remains closed in both directions due to protest actions that flared up on Thursday night and into Friday morning.
The N2 remains closed from the Garden Route Mall offramp to Pacaltsdorp Bridge.
Travellers from Cape Town are advised to take the Glentana offramp onto R102 and via George back onto Courtenay Road, Knysna Road and back on N2 past Garden Route Mall.
Travellers from Knysna side are asked to travel through town via Knysna Road.
Thembalethu Station Commander, Captain Dumile Gwavu, says traffic flow into and out of Thembalethu has been stopped, on request of SAPS as sporadic incidents of stone throwing have flared up again.
