Eastern Cape police are still searching for several gunmen who shot and killed a sangoma in Mbizana on Sunday morning.
Alton Joja, who allegedly provided muti to miners to make them invincible during the Marikana mine strike, was shot 13 times by five gunmen who arrived at his home in Ludeke Holt Village.
Police said the gunmen opened fire with a 9mm pistol and R-5 rifles before fleeing in a VW Polo which was later found abandoned.
The motive for Joja's murder is not yet known.
Survivors of the Marikana shooting had claimed that Joja, also known as Ndzabe, had provided muti to the striking miners to make them invincible to police.
