More than 150 suspects arrested in East London

East London police have arrested 151 suspects for various crimes during a weekend crime prevention operation.

Captain Stephen Marais says they were arrested for crimes, ranging from possession of drugs, to rape, housebreaking and theft.

He says 36 people were arrested for drunken driving.

All the suspects, aged between 17 and 54, will appear in court on Monday.
