A mystery driver from Gqeberha who was allegedly involved in two hit-and-run accidents on the same day has been traced by police.
Police spokesperson Captain Sandra Janse van Rensburg says it is alleged that on Sunday just before 5 pm, a man driving a white Nissan Xtrail knocked a man off his bicycle.
The incident happened at Elizabeth Road and Somerset Road in Beachview.
Captain Janse van Rensburg says the driver did not stop.
The cyclist called his wife to tell her what had happened and was taken to a hospital by ambulance for further treatment.
Captain Janse van Rensburg says about 10 minutes later a man was knocked off his scooter on the Seaview Road by the driver of a white Nissan Xtrail.
He too had to be transported to a hospital for further treatment.
Police have since traced the motorist and obtained a statement from him.
Captain Janse van Rensburg says once the investigation is completed the docket will be referred to the Senior Public Prosecutor for a decision to prosecute.
