Mutilated body found by herdsmen in Joza (Grahamstown)

Grahamstown police have called on members of the public to help identify the severely mutilated body of a woman found by herdsmen in the Joza area on Sunday morning.

Police Spokesperson Captain Mali Govender says a post-mortem will be conducted to establish the exact cause of death.

The victim was dressed in a blue tracksuit top and black ankle socks. Her hair was braided.

Anyone with information can contact their nearest police station.

Meanwhile four teenagers are expected to appear in the Grahamstown Magistrate’s Court on Monday for robbing a foreign national at his shop.

The four boys, aged between 14 and 16, were arrested on Saturday – a day after they held-up the shop owner in Extension 9 in Grahamstown.

Govender says the police team assigned to the case worked throughout the night to trace the perpetrators responsible for the robbery in which an  undisclosed amount of cash as well as groceries were taken. A shot was fired but no-one was injured.

The suspects each face a charge of armed robbery.
