A Port Elizabeth man who stabbed his ex-girlfriend to death has been jailed for life.
Police said that 27-year-old Sibongiseni Sotomella was sentenced in the city's High Court on Friday for the murder of Vivian Morai.
She was killed in her home in Mkayo Street in Greenfields when Sotomella stormed inside in November 2017 and stabbed her several times.
He handed himself over to police the following day and was in custody until he was sentenced.
Mount Road Cluster Commander, Maj Gen Thembisile Patekile commended the investigating officer, W/O Osher Bergman for securing the maximum sentence for what he said was a heinous crime.
