Police in Despatch are investigating a case of murder and an inquest following a shooting incident in Engelbrecht Street in Windsorpark on Tuesday afternoon.
Police spokesperson Captain Gerda Swart says a 65-year-old man allegedly shot his 39-year-old wife outside their home before taking his own life inside.
The incident happened at about 1 pm.
Both died on the scene.
Captain Swart says the circumstances surrounding the incident are sensitive and no further information may be divulged.
The investigation continues.
This is the second murder-suicide under investigation this week following the death of an elderly couple at Voëlklip in Herold’s Bay on Sunday.
