The case against a teenager who allegedly killed an eight-year-old Plettenberg Bay girl and dumped her body near her home was delayed again on Thursday morning.
Since 18-year-old Lulama Candani's arrest in December last year, he has appeared in the Plettenberg Bay magistrate's court several times, but the matter has been riddled with postponements.
During his last court appearance on the 17th of April , Candani insisted on being sent for a 30-day psychiatric evaluation at Valkenberg Hospital in Cape Town.
Prosecutor in the matter Henriette Breedt informed the court on Tuesday that Candani was now only number 118 on the hospital's waiting list and indicated that the State would also be appointing an independent team of psychiatrists to evaluate the accused.
They will be appointed on Monday - the 18th of May, when Candani will appear in court again. He remains in custody.
