The SAPS Provincial Tracing Team enjoyed a major breakthrough last night when they arrested another suspect, aged 45, at Dutywa near Mthatha in connection with a housebreaking incident at Sardinia Bay outside Port Elizabeth.
Two rifles, a shotgun, a 303 rifle and electronic equipment were found in the suspect's possession and were confiscated by police.
Provincial police spokesperson Brigadier Marinda Mills said the firearms would be sent for ballistic testing to determine if they had been used in the commission of any crime.
This brings the total number of arrested suspects in the matter to two, with one fatally wounded in Butterworth this week.
