Municipal pools in George to remain closed this summer season

The George municipal swimming pools will not open for the summer season.

Municipal spokesperson, Chantel Edward-Klose says they made this decision, following the extension of the State of Disaster and the concerning increase in infection rate for George and surrounding areas.

She says for November, the George Municipality has deemed it prudent to decide to keep the Conville and Uniondale Municipal Swimming pools closed during the festive season.

Edward Close says all relevant safety measure where explored, and it was concluded, that municipal pools will not be able to reopen safely.
