A 39-year-old man who was arrested by Port Elizabeth police for the kidnapping of a 10-year-old girl will also face a charge of rape.
Police arrested the man on Saturday sometime after some children reported seeing her going off with an adult man.
They were able to point out the house where he had allegedly taken the girl.
Police said the child was found at around 5 PM on Sunday in a street in New Brighton and taken to hospital for an examination.
Spokesperson, Captain Sandra Janse Van Rensburg said the suspect will appear in court on Monday.
