Muncipal employees protest at City Hall

Dozens of municipal employees in Nelson Mandela Bay gathered at city hall on Tuesday, the second day of a wild cat strike.

The employees are from the municipality's library and traffic services, which grounded to a halt again on Monday over a long-standing pay dispute.

They are members of the the Independent Muncipal and Allied Trade Union and the SA Muncipal Workers Union.

IMATU chairperson, Chris Haye, says they are striking because they had been promised a four notch increase on their current salaries which was supposed to have been paid by the 25th of this month.

Meanwhile, the acting Executive Director of Corporate Services, Mod Ndoyana, says all these issues will be dealt with by Friday.
