The Port Elizabeth serial rapist, convicted of a string of charges including 17 counts of rape, has been sentenced 13 life sentences plus an additional 228 years imprisonment.
27-year-old, Mzikayise Mkavu, was sentenced to a lifetime behind bars in the Port Elizabeth High Court on Thursday.
Mkavu pleaded guildy to all 36 charges against him, including 17 counts of rape, eight counts of assault with intent to cause grievous bodily harm, five counts of robbery and one count of attempted murder.
Handing down sentence, Judge Mandela Makaula described Mkavu as classical rapist and a heartless man who didn't show mercy to his victims.
Nine of the fourteen victims testified during the trial.
