Eastern Cape police have raided an Mthatha business which forges government payslips, identity books and matric certificates.
Colonel Mzukisi Fatyela says Bears furniture shop went to the police after a 39-year-old woman raised suspicions when she tried to open an account.
Fatyela says investigations revealed that she was unemployed, but had produced a false government payslip and a false identity book.
"She led us to another place where we confiscated a lot of ID documents, and also payslips from different government departments, fake licences and also matric certificates. There were also other items that can give you permission to go and open accounts with banks, shops and other places" Fatyela said.
Fatyela says a 27 year-old woman was arrested at the business premises and that both suspects will appear in court soon.
More arrests are expected.
