A Johannesburg motorist has been found guilty of attempted bribery by the Aliwal North Magistrate Court.
Eastern Cape Transport Department spokesperson Ncedo Kumbaca reports that Thabang Moahloli was sentenced on Friday to 10 months in prison, suspended for 3 years, with an option of a fine of R2000.
Moahloli was arrested by Traffic Officer Slinger when he attempted to bribe him with R40.
Department of Transport MEC Weziwe Tikana said the arrest and subsequent conviction was another step in the right direction in the fight against corruption.
