The energy department has announced a massive fuel price hike - effective next Wednesday - and its not an April fools joke.
Petrol will increase by R1.60 a litre and diesel by R1.20 cents a litre - both at the coast.
The price of illuminating paraffin will increase by 26 cents per litre and liquified Petroleum Gas by 85 cents per kilogram
Reasons given for the increase were higher international prices for petrol, diesel, and paraffin, and the weakening of the rand against the US dollar.
The increase also includes the 80.5 cents per litre increase in the fuel levy announced by Finance Minister Nhlanhla Nene in his recent budget speech.
