Police in Motherwell, Port Elizabeth, have arrested three people on charges of public violence.
This, after a group of about 100 people burned tyres and blockaded Tyinira Road in front of the police station.
This is their second protest about housing and other issues.
Police spokesperson, Captain Andre' Beetge, says after a tense afternoon, the residents have now dispersed and police are monitoring the situation.
Those arrested will appear in court on Monday.
