Mother and son arrested following Mdantsane Mall robbery

Police in Mdantsane in East London have arrested a mother and her son following a business robbery at Mdantsane Mall.

Police spokesperson, Lieutenant Nkosikho Mzuku, says they were acting on a tip off when they arrested the 21-year old on a charge of burglary and his 40-year-old mother on a charge of being in possession of suspected stolen property.

He says during the arrest at their home in Unit 3, police recovered cellphones, jewellery and TV's valued at an estimated R80 000.

Mzuku says the mother and son will appear in court on Thursday.
