A travel agent from Mossel Bay has been arrested by the Hawks' commercial crime unit on various fraud charges involving more than a million rand.
The accused, Bets Olivier assisted residents who wanted to travel to the Rugby World Cup in England, but allegedly failed to pay the outstanding amount to tour agents.
Data from the travel agency has since been confiscated.
At this stage, the Hawks are investigating 45 charges against her.
Olivier made her first appearance in the Mossel Bay Magistrate court, and was released on a warning.
