Mossel Bay Tourism says its welcomed with excitement the inclusion of the Garden Route on a list of the world's top ten coastal routes.
The list was compiled by VirtualTourist.com - a social web site where a worldwide community of more than 1.3 million travelers share advice and experiences.
Mossel Bay is the Garden Route's only harbour town.
Marcia Holm of Mossel Bay Tourism says the nomination is significant because the nomination comes from the general public and not tourism professionals.
"It just shows the power of social media. And, we are very proud to be nominated as number six because we're the only one in Africa and its a feather in our cap. We need to market the Garden Route much more," she said.
