The Mossel Bay Municipality has implemented additional measures to prevent the spread of Covid-19 in the Great Mossel Bay area.
This follows a special council meeting on Monday.
Municipal Manager, Thys Giliomee said as of Tuesday all public libraries and community halls would be closed to the public.
He said no sporting events would take place on municipal grounds and no public marches would be allowed.
The announcement follows 102 new cases of Covid-19 reported in Mossel Bay over the weekend.
Giliomee said the hospitals were increasingly busy and he has urged the local community to comply with all the safety measures.
