Mossel Bay police are investigating a family tragedy after the bodies of a man and his two children were found on Sunday.
Southern Cape police spokesperson, captain Bernadine Steyn, says a post mortem will establish whether nine year old Sharmill de Jager and his seven year old sister Melissa, had been strangled.
Their 41 year old father, Mark Saayman was found in a seperate bedroom with a rope around his neck.
Steyn says the children's mother was at work at the time.
She says although the couple lived together they were not married.
