Mossel Bay police make a grim discovery

A body has been found by police members from several stations who participated in a search for a woman from Mossel Bay who has been missing since August last year.

Correspondent Louise Karsten reports the 35-year old Anastacha September was involved at the Da Gamaskop Community Policing Forum and was last seen alive in the Herbertsdale area.

Twenty eight police members started the search on Monday in the Gondwana Nature Reserve near Mossel Bay.

According to the spokesperson for the Da Gamaskop Police Station, Captain Wollie Fourie, a 7 kilometre distance was searched on foot patrol.

On Tuesday police members continued to search the area outside the fence of the reserve.

The remains of a body were found in a deserted area close to the reserve fence.

This was sent away for a DNA test to determine if the corpse is that of the missing woman.
