Mossel Bay police confiscated drugs with an estimated street value of R800 000 and arrested a 52-year-old man on the N2 highway outside the town at the weekend.
Spokesperson, Sergeant Christopher Spies says members received a tip-off about a vehicle that was en route from Cape Town on Friday evening with a consignment of drugs.
He says they stopped a Ford Figo near a petrol station and searched the vehicle.
Spies says police found heroin stashed in the glovebox and a bag with Tik hidden in the boot.
Police confiscated 1,63 kg of heroin and 1.18 kg of Tik, as well as the motor vehicle.
Sergeant Spies says a preliminary investigation indicates that the drugs were destined for delivery in Mossel Bay.
The suspect will appear in court soon.
