A 36-year-old man accused of sexually assaulting patients with Alzheimer's disease entered into a plea agreement with the state in the Mossel Bay Regional Court on Wednesday.
Mark Labuschagne was arrested in September 2020 at a Mossel Bay facility specialising in caring for people with Alzheimer's Disease.
He worked as a handyman at the facility and allegedly exposed himself to a 79-year-old woman, who was confined to her bed.
Police found child pornography on his cell phone during the arrest and also used CCTV footage as evidence in the case.
Labuschagne pleaded guilty to three charges of sexual assault, possessing child pornography, and "self-masturbation."
His case was postponed to 9 November for sentencing.
