A Mossel Bay man has been rescued by a NSRI sea rescue swimmer, following reports of a drowning in progress at Outeniqua Beach, near Great Brak.
NSRI spokesperson, Craig Lambinon says the rescue swimmer swam out to 37 year old Johan van Eeden, who was found to be struggling in a strong rip currenton Saturday afternoon.
He says the rescuer secured Van Eeden, and together they continued to be swept by strong rip currents, before being brought closer to the shore.
