A Mossel Bay man who appeared in court yesterday on a charge of culpable homicide now faces charges of murder.
This follows the death of two children in an accident on Friday night.
Southern Cape police spokesperson, captain Malcolm Pojie, says 39 year old Friedel Roller appear in court yesterday, originally on charges of culpable homicide, drunken driving and trying to escape from lawful custody.
He fled from police after being pulled over for overtaking a police officer on a barrier line and crashed into an oncoming car, killing 11 year old Sonika van Wyk, her friend, Dante' Hageman. The driver was admitted to hospital in a coma.
Roller escaped with minor injuries and will apply for bail next Tuesday.
