Man gets double life sentence for murder, rape and robbery

A 42 year old man was handed a double life sentence and an additional 15 years by the East London regional court yesterday for the murder, rape and robbery of a 78 year old woman.

Her body was found with multiple stab wounds in the bushes near Mtsotso railway station in Mdantsane in November 2010.

The Mdantsane cluster commander, Major General William Mbaliso praised the hard work and dedication shown by the Mdantsane detectives in solving the case which had shocked the local community.
