Mossel Bay man back in court for alleged child rape

A 22-year old man from Mossel Bay will appear in court again on Tuesday, after being arrested for allegedly raping an 11 year old girl in Powertown in December last year.

The victim, who was also strangled, managed to escape, and called for help.

Bail was earlier denied to the man, who is a resident from Powertown.

No one has been arrested yet in connection with the murders of two teenagers from the same neighbourhood last year.

In both cases the two young girls were strangled and their bodies found near their homes.

The  suspect has not yet pleaded on the charges against him.
